Software Engineer — Backend and Integrations

About the role

This role develops the backend, APIs and integrations that support the WDT modules and their expansion toward AI, sensors, BIM/GIS, simulations and external software. The platform needs internal tool contracts, API/CLI/MCP connectors, backend versioning, pipelines and integration with engineering platforms.

The person will work on services that must be secure, auditable, testable and clear to other teams. The aim is to build the technical base that lets the WDT operate as a modular engineering platform, connecting data, models, calculations, evidence and workflows.

Main responsibilities

• Develop backend services, APIs and integration components for WDT modules.
• Create internal contracts, schemas, endpoints, adapters and connectors for tools and technical data sources.
• Support integrations with engineering software, simulation routines, data pipelines, technical documents and AI modules.
• Implement versioning, traceability, logs, input validation and error handling.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, document storage and structured or semi-structured technical data.
• Collaborate with DevOps, QA and security on deployment, observability, testing and access control.
• Document APIs, technical decisions and integration procedures for other teams.

Required qualifications

• Backend development experience with C#, .NET or an equivalent technology in production systems.
• Solid knowledge of REST APIs, data modeling, authentication, authorization and service integration.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Ability to write testable, documented code prepared for maintenance.
• Familiarity with Git, build and deployment pipelines and code-review practice.
• Interest in engineering, data, simulation or digital-twin domains.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Azure, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Blob Storage, Cosmos DB, MongoDB or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of messaging, asynchronous processing, WebSockets/SignalR, queues and long-running jobs.
• Experience with connectors for external tools, CLIs, SDKs, automation or technical parsing.
• Familiarity with API security, LGPD, environment segregation and hardening.
