PhDsoft has just joined the Cluster Tecnológico Naval do Rio de Janeiro (CTN-RJ) as a First-Hour Partner.

“The naval industry has always taken a great deal of cutting-edge technology on board, with the pioneering use of sensors, radar, GPS, and, today, seeking, for example, the development of smart ships and the use of the internet of things and digital twins,” explains Duperron Marangon Ribeiro, CEO of PhDsoft.

“This is a segment that demands technology and innovation in order to meet requirements and to ensure the participation of companies in the sector in a global market, in which competitiveness is measured by the efficiency of their technological resources,” he explains, recalling that PhDsoft signed its first contract with Transpetro in 1993 and today serves several oil production platforms in operation around the world, and signed, last year, a contract with the Port of Houston, in the United States.

One of the most important ports in the United States and one of the busiest in the world, the Port of Houston will use C4D, PhDsoft’s digital twin, to improve operational performance, reduce inspection and maintenance costs, and maximize the service life of cranes.

A nonprofit association recognized by the Ministry of Economy and by the Secretariat for Economic Development, Energy and International Relations of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the CTN-RJ aims to foster cooperation and contribute to the development of economic activities related to the sea in the State of Rio de Janeiro.

“We have a great deal to contribute to the companies that make up the Cluster Tecnológico Naval and to the development of the ocean economy. It is a sector that is part of PhDsoft’s DNA. This will certainly be a successful partnership,” Duperron concludes.
